Berkeley mayor Jesse Arreguin is calling for “Antifa,” which uses violence to silence others, to be classified as a street gang by police.
OK, “begins” is the key word. He finally gets it that angry black-clad “Antifa” thugs are not his friend (even though they may hold similar beliefs). Clearly, Jesse believes in the overthrow of the Constitution using more peaceful means. But overthrow it is. Why do I say that? Because this same mayor rejects free speech:
In February, Arreguin appeared to side with violent demonstrators at UC Berkeley who shut down a planned speech by then-Breitbart News Tech editor Milo Yiannopoulos, tweeting that “Hate speech isn’t welcome in our community.” He later smeared Yiannopoulos as a “white nationalist,” for which he later apologized.
Like “Antifa” he likes to throw around fake labels to get hackles up. Claiming conservative speech is “hate speech” is similar to the lying SPLC (Southern Poverty Law Center) assigning any and all conservative groups to its “Hate Group” list. Which, BTW, has resulted in an attempted assassination of a congressman and the shooting of a guard.
This, from Act for America, as part of their proposed letters to Apple, MGM Resorts, and Chase Bank:
Did you know the SPLC supports the Council of American Islamic Relations (CAIR), which has been designated as a terrorist organization? The SPLC’s phony “hate list” is nothing short of political intimidation, and an attempt to silence ordinary Americans. More alarming, this phony SPLC “hate list,” has gravely endangered innocent people for their conservative beliefs. On August 15, 2012 Floyd Lee Corkins II, entered the Family Research Council’s Washington, D.C. headquarters and shot an employee, 46-year-old Leonardo Johnson. During his FBI interview Corkins was asked how he chose his target. His response was “Southern Poverty Law lists anti-gay groups. I found them online.”It’s also no surprise that when a crazed assassin opened fire at a Congressional baseball game, critically wounding Rep. Steve Scalise, the shooter was a self avowed supporter of the SPLC! In 2014, under the Obama administration, the FBI cut ties with the Southern Poverty Law Center. The Department of Justice removed the SPLC as a reference after more than a dozen conservative organizations complained about the erroneous labeling and public safety threats that accompany it.
Please do not support organizations that target and silence those they disagree with politically through deceptive hate labels.

You can also call and tell them you will take your business elsewhere, and tell others to do likewise if they continue to finance radical groups like the SPLC.
