Half Dome is one of the many signature highlights everyone wants to see when visiting Yosemite National Park, in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Eastern California. It is essentially half of a mountain. The other half was carved away by aliens, using death rays. No, actually, it was a glacier, ha ha!
Half Dome has a very distinguishing view both from below and from almost every direction. Here, we are hiking along a path at the top of the ridge southeast of Half Dome, around sunset.
Many scale the nearly vertical face of the mountain. Some even die trying. And some are rescued, after having a near fatal accident trying. Me? I take photos…
This was captured in 1999 using a Canon Elan camera and Kodak Gold 100 film.
