Essential Oils: Favorite Blends

An Essential Oil Distiller

There are many different Essential Oils on the market from many different plants, roots, tree sap, and bark, leaves, stems, and flowers.  All of them provided by “Mother Nature” also known as the Creator God.  I do not believe any of them were created “by accident” but rather for use by the human race for health.

Most, if not all Essential Oil companies not only provide individual oils, but also combinations of oils, or blends.  Typically, each of these blends are designed for specific purposes, although they often have other uses besides the primary one.  I have a few favorites I want to discuss with you here.

OnGuard

This combination was created to support a healthy immune and respiratory system.  It also protects against environmental threats, and promotes healthy circulation.  I was primarily interested in the healthy immune system aspect.

My wife started using this back in 2012, when we visited Utah and visited the DoTerra home office.  She used it regularly to avoid flu vaccinations, and to avoid catching various virus conditions that swirled around us everywhere we went.  She had excellent results.

It was not until after my discovery of Lemon Oil to get me out of my zombie state that I started believing that Essential Oils were actually useful, and that’s when I started using it.  I put on about 2 drops every morning and evening, typically on my stomach area.  If I have the beginnings of a sore throat, I put it on my neck.  Lately, I have also been putting a drop in my mouth and swishing it around everywhere after brushing my teeth at night.  It seems to eliminate my occasional gum sores, and promotes healthy gums and kills germs.  It seems to be keeping me from getting sick with the various viral infections going around, as well.

DDR Prime

This complex supports cellular integrity and health, and protects from oxidative stress.  It also can kill cancer.  The blend includes Clove, Thyme, and Wild Orange essential oils providing powerful antioxidants that help protect against oxidative stress. It also includes essential oils from Frankincense, Lemongrass, Summer Savory, and Niaouli.

I have used this because it sounds like it is good for me.  However, the only specific case I can present of its actual effect is the elimination of skin cancer on my ear.

I have had skin cancer on my back, and 4 times on my ears.  The first 3 times, it was cut out, and my ears were repaired.  The last time, I decided to attempt getting rid of it using DDR Prime.  I applied it 3-5 times a day for several weeks, until it went away.  I continued for another 2-3 weeks “just to be sure.”  It never returned!

There is plenty of laboratory evidence that certain Essential Oils can kill cancer cells, if the level of concentration is above a specific level.  Since my ear is pretty isolated and easy to apply (and limited blood flow to take away the oils to other parts of my body), it was a great opportunity to use DDR Prime.  I think trying to use it for a cancer in your “guts” might prove to be problematical, as you would have trouble getting the proper concentration.  So I give you my testimony with a warning:  be wise when dealing with cancer.

DigestZen

I am one of those people with a “weak stomach.”  That means, I need to take Prilosec several times a week (I have not yet figured out if there is an Essential Oil treatment that could replace that).  I have used antacid tablets most of my life, as well.  I can’t handle strong acidic foods very well.

While Prilosec helps a lot, I still have some trouble from time to time with digestion.  DigestZen is made for that.  It is designed for oral use, but so far, I have only used it neat on my stomach (external).  It is truly amazing how quickly it soothes the stomach, and takes care of the problem.  It is like magic!  I guess if I used it internally it would work even better.  I have not tried it as a replacement for Prilosec as of the writing of this blog, nor do I know that would be a solution to my excess acid problem.

I also love the smell!  This unique blend contains Ginger, Fennel, and Coriander to help ease occasional stomach discomfort, including motion sickness and indigestion, while Peppermint, Tarragon, Anise, and Caraway aid with digestion and help maintain a healthy gastrointestinal tract.  I think it is the Fennel smell I love…  Or is it Anise?  Beats me, but I love the smell!

Deep Blue

I have had trouble with my feet all my life.  Flatter than a flat earth, and uncomfortable at night in bed.  The first problem was discovering that my feet blood flow was being restricted by tight socks around my legs.  I switched to loose socks, and that helped, but I still had trouble getting to sleep at night.  I heard about Deep Blue Rub from a friend who owned a spa, so I bought a pack of the samples from Amazon.  This was in inexpensive way to try out Deep Blue Rub.

It helped me get to sleep.  My feet did not bother me nearly as much with Deep Blue Rub as without it.  Note that I also tried Frankincense, White Fir, and Marjoram as well – each of them helped, but Deep Blue Rub probably the best.

I now buy it in the larger tube as shown, however, the packets are actually a pretty good buy as the number of ounces of it is about the same for the same dollars expended, and it is convenient.  I found one packet would work for 2 nights for both feet.

DoTerra claims that Deep Blue is soothing and cooling and warmth (at the same time).  That would be the Peppermint, I think.  Deep Blue essential oil is a blend of Wintergreen, Camphor, Peppermint, Ylang Ylang, Helichrysum, Blue Tansy, Blue Chamomile, and Osmanthus,

One note of caution:  don’t touch your skin around your eyes after applying Deep Blue!  Wash your hands first!  While most of your skin will love Deep Blue, some areas, such as around your eyes, are very sensitive and it will feel like a burning sensation.  I have made that mistake a few times.  It will go away after a while, and you can speed it up by washing around the area, but it is not fun getting it around your eyes… 🙂

There are a few other Essential Oils I may write about in the future.  For now, you have a fairly complete picture of the ones I use most of the time.  I created a blend of my own, which I call “Alergeez” for allergies, and I also use Lavender for decongesting and for calming and sleep.
