Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument

This national monument is pretty dreary for the post part.  Dull colors, flat areas, some hills and valleys… Boring…  Hey!  What’s that?

You guessed it!  Outcrops of brilliant orange rock, scattered here and there in certain places.  It is a surprise when you find them as your eyes are pretty bored by the time you get there…

This photo was taken near sundown.  It was getting dark, but my camera does not care about that, so it looks like full daylight in the photo.  But I can remember remarking “wow – look at that color!”
