I have always loved aspen trees. The white bark against often dark backgrounds is always such a wonderful contrast. Out with a friend on a cloudy winder day on Route 88 in Eastern California, we were walking in deep snow (actually walking on top of deep snow – until I fell through – but that is another story), the sun suddenly broke through the clouds and briefly lit up the Aspen with golden light. What a wonderful sight! I clicked off some photos as fast as I could before the clouds again covered the sun.
Here you see one of the resulting images. I love the golden glow on the sunward side and snow on the winter side – what a contrast!
