About the verseThese words were uttered by Our Lord on the occasion of the Last Supper. The shadow of the cross fell upon that gathering, and here, for the first time, men began to have a glimpse of God’s cosmic act of redemption on behalf of the human race. This was a sadly solemn and sweetly beautiful moment in time that has altered forever the destiny of this world. About the artAt different periods of my life my artistic style
has been different. This is an older piece than most in this
collection, dating from the early to mid eighties. There are
no geometric designs here, only swirling, convoluted scroll shapes.
Symbols of the passion are arranged in the form of a cross and, in
keeping with the somber theme of the text, the colors are grayed and
muted. |
